Pitstop Rules of Play

Little drivers, big adventures

Pitstop has been created for children aged five and under to explore, imagine and play. To keep every visit happy and safe, we ask all grown-ups and little drivers to follow these simple rules.

Grown-ups stay in charge

Children must remain under the active supervision of a responsible adult aged 18 or over throughout their visit.

Our Pitstop team will keep an eye on the play space and are always happy to help, but they cannot take responsibility for supervising individual children.

Please pay particularly close attention to babies and younger children, especially around small toys or when the play space is busy.

Made for children aged five and under

Pitstop is designed exclusively for babies, toddlers and children up to and including five years old.

Older siblings are welcome to visit with the family, but they must not play on or use the play equipment. This helps us protect our smallest visitors and keep the space comfortable for everyone.

Shoes off, socks on

Shoes must be removed before entering the play space and left in the storage area provided.

Children must wear grip socks while playing. Adults entering the play area must also wear socks. Grip socks can be purchased from our team if needed.

For safety, children should not play barefoot or in ordinary slippery socks.

Drive carefully

We know that energetic play is part of the fun, but please encourage children to play gently and be aware of those around them.

Running, pushing, rough play, throwing toys or deliberately crashing into other children is not permitted.

Please help little ones to share, wait their turn and treat other children with kindness.

Use the play space as intended

Children should use the vehicles, toys and play equipment in the way they were designed to be used.

Please do not allow children to climb onto furniture, tables, counters, barriers, roofs or any area not intended for play.

Toys and equipment should remain within their designated play zones unless a member of the Pitstop team says otherwise.

Food stays in the café

Food, drinks, sweets and chewing gum must not be taken into the play area.

Baby milk, baby food and items required for a medical or dietary need are permitted, but should only be consumed in the café or seating areas.

Please let us know about any allergies when ordering food. While we take allergies seriously, we cannot guarantee an entirely allergen-free environment.

Hands clean, play space clean

Please wash or sanitise hands before entering Pitstop.

Nappies must be changed in the designated baby-changing facilities and never within the play space.

If your child has a toileting accident, is sick or spills something in the play area, please tell a member of the team straight away so that we can clean and sanitise the area properly.

Deliberate or significant damage to the play space or its equipment may be charged to the responsible adult.

Please stay home if you’re unwell

If your child—or anyone accompanying them—is unwell, has a contagious illness or has recently experienced vomiting or diarrhoea, please postpone your visit.

This helps us protect other families, particularly babies and very young children.

Keep pockets safe

Before playing, please remove jewellery, badges, keys, coins and any sharp, loose or potentially hazardous items.

Please avoid clothing with loose cords or anything that could become caught on the equipment.

Photography

You are welcome to photograph your own children, but please be considerate of other families.

Do not photograph or film another child without permission from their parent or guardian. Please also avoid publishing images in which other children can be clearly identified.

Accidents and emergencies

Please report any accident, injury, damaged equipment or safety concern to a member of the Pitstop team immediately—even if it appears minor.

If an alarm sounds or the building needs to be evacuated, follow the instructions of our team and leave by the nearest safe exit. Children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult throughout an evacuation.

Your belongings

Please keep personal belongings with you or use the storage provided. Pitstop cannot accept responsibility for belongings that are lost, damaged or stolen.

Prams and buggies must be left in the designated area and should not block walkways, doors or emergency exits.

Session times

Please arrive in time for your booked session. Arriving late will reduce the amount of playtime available and sessions cannot usually be extended.

At the end of your session, please leave the play area promptly so our team can tidy and prepare it for the next group of little drivers.

Kindness comes first

Pitstop is a friendly and inclusive space. Aggressive, intimidating, discriminatory or abusive behaviour from either children or adults will not be accepted.

If someone’s behaviour is unsafe or seriously affects other visitors, we may ask them to leave. A refund will not normally be provided in these circumstances.

One final pit stop

By entering the play space, visitors agree to follow these Rules of Play and any reasonable safety instructions given by the Pitstop team.

We may occasionally update these rules as Pitstop grows and we learn more about how families use the space.
